Her degree is from Islamia University in Pakistan and she also completed two internships there - one in the Surgical Department of Baqai Hospital and one in the Department of Medicine of Civil Hospital. From 1992-1994, she served as a resident in internal medicine at Ravenswood Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Shah is a member of the Pakistan Medical Council.
